Wheels 103mm Rubber

  • The 103mm rubber wheels along with wider trucks are the best as they enable you to ride without any hassle or worry about the terrain you are riding on.

Cons

  • Teamgee H20T does not have LED lights. This makes the board tough to ride at night, especially if you plan on using it for your daily commute. This is also a deal-breaker for some, considering the price you are expected to pay.

Teamgee H20T is the best electric skateboard that you can use to get around. If you are looking for a quality electric skateboard, this one is excellent for short as well as long-distance commutes, cruising, and running errands.

This board carries 2 powerful 600W motors that you extra boost while riding. This no doubt adds to the weight but makes the board more efficient.

Teamgee H20T is made from 8-ply Canadian maple and 1-ply fiberglass, instead of carbon which is more popular among electric skateboards and is more lightweight in comparison. Instead, fiberglass prevents the deck from being easily scratched and works on making it lighter.

Moreover, the board is 38 inches long and 9 inches wide. Therefore, you won’t be able to store it easily in the overhear storage of buses and trains or your backpack for that matter.

Teamgee H20T has 103mm rubber wheels that are sure to absorb most of the shocks that come your way while protecting your board. This is extremely helpful, especially for urban commuters.

The trucks are also wide and stable, built for shock absorption, and ideal for pairing up with its larger 103mm wheels. You can enjoy the ride knowing that these trucks can accommodate rugged and street terrain.

The deck of the skateboard has a deep concave that locks you in while you ride. Even on different terrains, you do not have to worry about your weight before riding this skateboard.

Furthermore, the board is 15mm thick and can support up to 286lbs (130kgs) with relative ease. This is due to the quality of the construction that even on rough or hilly terrain going upwards, you can count on Teamgee H20T to get you top-side.

The deck is also wider giving the new rider ample room for discovery while keeping the same amount of durability.

Board also features 4 different modes for speeding as well as 4 different modes for braking.

For speeding you have (L/M/H/H+) and for braking you have (B1/B2/B3/B4).

If that’s not enough, the appeal which sets it apart from other models on the market includes its color, the uniqueness of its bubble-icious design, and the overall elegance that arrive with it.

Finally, for a full charge, the 9600 mAh battery of Teamgee H20T will take around 3-4 hours and will operate for up to 22 miles at a top speed of 26mph speed at max.

You can also try the Teamgee H5 37-Inch Electric Skateboard if you are looking for a board under $500.

2. Meepo V3

Meepo V3
Build8-ply Maple
Deck38″ x 9″
Wheels90A
Speed 28mph
Range 11 miles
BatteryLithium-ion

Pros

  • The price tag makes it extremely affordable and the electric skateboard delivers value for money in all regards considering the competition.
  • The increased speed of 28mph and 4 modes to control the speed makes it ideal for riders of all skill levels.
  • The steeper hill climb makes it an attractive option (30% grade).
  • Regenerative braking is perhaps the most important thing to consider when deciding between Meepo V3. Not only is it a cutting-edge feature, highly differentiating it from the many electric skateboards, it is also environment friendly.
  • In case you ever run out of battery, you can kick push the board as it will not choke and can be used as a normal skateboard.
  • The weight limit of 330lbs (150kgs) makes it suitable for riders from all walks of life.

Cons

  • Unfortunately, you can’t get an extra wheel option with Meepo V3, which means that you cannot ride this on rougher surfaces.
  • Carving is also difficult on this board as it is built for daily usage and does not focus on carving as much.

The best-selling product by the Meepo brand by far and considering the time Meepo crew spent on this one, it is worth it.

The Meepo V3 is a great option for beginners and also for riders who are looking to take electric skateboarding to the next level. Additionally, it is a great skateboard on the low side of the price spectrum, making it a cheap electric skateboard for under $500.

The board has 4 built-in modes and a top speed of 28mph, combined with two 540W hub motors to provide you a stronger torque, faster top speed along a reliable braking mechanism when required.

The deck of the skateboard is made from 8-ply Canadian maple wood which provides you with the stability that is required when riding on rough and bumpy roads or when going fast to reduce the risk of falling. The stability offered is more than what is offered with most conventional skateboards so you know you are covered. The length of the deck is 38 inches so you have enough room to maneuver the board and to adjust your footing to however you like.

The deck is built to last. It can support weight up to 330lbs (150kgs) so even if you are heavyweight you can ride easily without worrying about damaging your board.

Moreover, speed is not an issue for Meepo V3. This also increases the climbing grade as the board can climb even steeper hills (30% grade). However, this is also dependent on your weight as going uphill with more weight can damage the motor in the long run.

The battery has a range of about 11 miles which is sufficient if you are looking to use the board for daily commute as well as running errands. The battery takes about 3 hours to recharge which can be a hassle (especially if you forget to plug it in at night!).

Another plus is the regenerative braking which charges the board whenever you brake. Although you must avoid going downhill on a full charge as the brakes won’t work to protect the battery.

However, if you were to run out of battery, the board won’t choke and you can kick push the board instead of carrying it around.

Furthermore, the skateboard comes with a 6-month brand warranty to cover any manufacturing defects. Meepo claims the Meepo V3 has the lowest defect rate but does not provide us with the evidence to substantiate this claim.

Another option is Meepo Mini 2 that is compact as the deck is 32 inches long and it also features a kicktail.

3. Backfire G2

best electric skateboard

Pros

Cons

  • Backfire G2 provides just about the adequate range and lacks in that department. This can be a deal-breaker if you plan on using the board over longer distances.

A tried and time-tested board. The sheer focus of Backfire G2 is on speed and there is not a thing to not appreciate about that.

The board can hold a maximum weight of 240lbs (109.1kgs) although, after 220lbs, you will be compromising on the performance.

Backfire G2 features 2 400W motors that ensure steady delivery when it comes to speed of up to 23mph, combined with a 42V, 5Ah, 180Wh lithium-ion battery which takes about 3 and a half hours to charge. In addition, this gives you a range of about 11-13 miles, depending on the speed mode.

You have the option of choosing between 2-speed modes, namely:

  • Eco-mode: up to 13mph,

Whenever the battery is below 25%, the remote starts vibrating to warn of low power. However, when it reaches 10%, to conserve power, the board gets extremely slow and any attempt to accelerate has deteriorated.

Furthermore, the board comes with 6 months warranty from the manufacturer, so you can ride without a worry.

The Backfire G2 is a perfect budget board that is sure to get you hooked on electric skateboarding (longboarding!). Besides, if you are not looking to spend too much (> $500) and discover what electric skateboarding is about, it is a perfect option. The board combines value with quality perfectly when considered. Cons

  • The single biggest issue is the guide manual. Frankly, it’s not user-friendly, and contacting customer services is tiresome on its own.
  • Top speed of 15.6mph can be a letdown for speed junkies.

Caroma Electric Skateboard is an exceptional board that is ideal for beginners and offers a premium riding experience for half the price. This one is a true cheap electric skateboard for its size.

It has a battery of 29.4V 4000 mAh and allows you to travel at a maximum speed of 15.6mph with relative ease. The power offered is sufficient for beginners and intermediate riders, however, pros may wish for something faster. The main focus of the board is towards stamina and lasting longer in terms of battery than most boards and it delivers highly in that aspect.

The deck of the skateboard is made from 8-ply maple wood, making it strong and sturdy and offering the rider the feel of riding a conventional skateboard, unlike most electric skateboards that are made from carbon and other sturdier materials. Maple wood also absorbs most of the impact you are likely to feel when riding on rough surfaces.

Furthermore, the deck is extremely balanced as the battery and motor are cautiously positioned and do not require much space which makes it easy to carry the board. This ability is paramount if you plan to use the skateboard for your daily commute or just have to carry it while running errands.

This electric skateboard weighs about 12.5lbs (5.68kgs) and the length of the deck is 36 inches while its width is 9 inches which means that you will not only be going fast but will also have ample room to adjust your footing.

5. Hiboy S11 Electric Skateboard

best electric skateboards
BuildMaple
Deck 30″ x 8″
Wheels 80A
Speed 12.4mph
Range 6.2 miles
Battery25.2V

Pros

  • Hiboy S11 offers great value for money and is an easy option if you want to get a gist of what an electric skateboard has to offer, although there are skateboards that offer, for instance; lower recharge time, this is also reflected in the price.
  • 4 brakes and ride modes make it an attractive choice. Not only that, the transition among these modes while riding also makes it a safer option.
  • Skateboard is user-friendly. This is mainly due to the wireless remote control being comfort-built which makes the transition between different modes easy.
  • Its lighter built does not interfere with the solid construction of the skateboard that can support up to 220lbs (100kgs).
  • The lighter skateboard is also easy to carry, making it an ideal choice for daily commute.

Cons

  • The overall battery timing. This is one of the biggest put-offs for this skateboard. Not only does it take more than 2 hours to recharge, but it also offers less battery timing when compared with other electric skateboards.

Hiboy ranks high on the cheap electric skateboard spectrum when you consider electric skateboards. If you are looking to get into electric skateboarding and want to try it out before going all in, this is a great option. Not only is it best suited for beginners, but it is also safer as it has 4 ride and brake modules to switch between. Therefore, it is perfect to ride around campus and use for daily commute. Although it is not built for competition, it is user-friendly and easier to handle.

Moreover, the skateboard weighs 7.94lbs (3.60kgs), making it easier to carry and transport. However, this does not mean that it lacks a solid structure to carry you around. In fact, it’s the opposite, as it can carry up to 220lbs (100kgs).

S11 also comes with a regenerative braking system that charges the battery of the skateboard from kinetic energy lost during the braking. This is the coolest and the most environment-friendly way to conserve power.

Furthermore, the skateboard has a 350W single hub motor which can accelerate the skateboard up to 12.4mph. It takes about 2.5 hours for the battery to recharge. On a single charge, you can travel up to 6.2 miles. This distance will increase if you ride at cruising speed.

The deck is 30-inch in length giving the rider enough room to comfortably maneuver the skateboard. The 80A polyurethane wheels offer a comfortable ride by absorbing shocks that come along with skateboarding. These wheels are even softer than the ones that come with a conventional skateboard, which means that speed is foregone for protection.

Another great option, if you are willing to go with this brand, is Hiboy S22. This board has a larger deck, more range, and better speed, but we believe that it is slightly overpriced.

6. Skatebolt Tornado II

cheap electric skateboard
Build8-ply Maple
Deck38″ x 9.4″
Wheels83A (90mm)
Speed 26mph
Range 15 miles
Battery7500mAh

Pros

  • Safety features are pleasant to have when you consider modern skateboarding. This is something that more skateboarding brands are missing and this one capitalizes on.
  • Skatebolt Tornado II offers incredible speed combined with great range. This combined with the comfortable riding experience is sure to leave the rider in awe.
  • The skateboard offers value for money when you consider all the factors mentioned above.

Cons

  • Switching between modes is not as smooth as it should be. This is especially the case when you consider switching between going backward and forward.
  • There are lighter options available if you are also looking forward to carrying your board.

A great thing about Skatebolt Tornado II that is a differentiating factor here is that the skateboard offers many safety features such as 2 LED taillights, for when you are cruising around near dark and a very detailed remote control that has everything you need, and more. The backlit LCD screen allows you to switch mode and directions, along with telling you the speed, the battery life, and controlling the braking mechanism of the skateboard.

This does not mean that the skateboard cuts corners where performance is concerned. The board offers a top speed of 26mph with a range of 15 miles, which is more than enough to cruise around the densely populated areas and the college campus hands-down.

However, if you have any issue with the range or if you are going to use it for even longer distances, the skateboard also features a regenerative braking system that will restore the battery when you brake.

The board also features deck guard protectors. These rubber covers on the edge of the deck are extensions to protect the board from collisions and even though they cost extra, it is minimal considering the amount of protection this offers, especially when riding in densely populated areas.

The deck of the skateboard is made from 8-ply maple wood that is sufficient enough to not just last long, it is also built-tough so that the board does not get disfigured due to the shock it receives while riding. The deck is also 38-inch in length and offers great room for maneuverability and control combined with dashing speed, making it a lethal combination and a must-have for speed junkies and beginners alike.

Moreover, the maximum weight it can support is 280lbs (127.3 kgs). This also affects the speed and the pressure on the 2 350W hub motors. Your weight can also affect the steepness of the hills the skateboard can climb. By default, this steepness is a 25% grade.

Furthermore, the weight of the skateboard itself is 19lbs (8.6kgs).

The skateboard also comes with a 6 months free maintenance service for any quality issue that may occur with the skateboard.

Some owners have complained about the 7,500mAh battery taking too long t recharge, however, this is directly proportional to the extended distance you can travel making it an acceptable disadvantage.

Lastly, the Skatebolt Tornado II delivers value for money if you consider the features that come along with it. This skateboard not only delivers on the performance and construction side but also has added safety features that are more than welcome.

7. Blitzart Huracane 38-inch Electric Skateboard

cheap electric skateboards
Build6-ply Maple w/ 2-ply Bamboo
Deck38″ x 7″
Wheels90mm PU
Speed 19mph
Range 10 miles
Battery 36V 4.4Ah

Pros

  • Blitzart Huracane offers decent speed, provided it is not as high as compared to some of the faster skateboards on this list, it still racks up a decent score, which considering the price tag, is a huge plus.
  • Where construction is concerned, the board is built to perfection. The combination of durability and flexibility is a much-needed addition and we hope that the brand builds up on that.
  • The hold and reverse function of the skateboard is a top feature that cements its place on our list.
  • The board offers value for money for the innovation and quality it offers.

Cons

  • Warranty is not offered by the brand. This can be a problem, especially when there is a manufacturing defect. However, you can opt for a 2-year sporting goods protection plan, but that will also set you back.

Blitzart Huracane 38-inch electric skateboard is another value for money skateboard you should consider.

The design of the board, which is the first thing to notice is both; appealing and intense while staying simple at the same time.

The deck of the skateboard is made from 6-ply maple wood and 2-ply bamboo with grip-tape applied on the top side. This combination offers durability that comes with maple wood and flexibility that comes from bamboo, making it an ideal choice for riders who seek immense value from their electric skateboard. It’s neither too slippery nor too sturdy so that you feel locked in while riding. This skateboard has a length of 38-inch (as the name suggests) which offers ample space. However, the board does not come with a kicktail that will surely be missed.

The skateboard offers a top speed of 19mph with a 350W brushless hub motor that keeps the board silent while it’s in use, unlike belt motors that make too much noise for one’s liking. With a range of about 10 miles which depends on the type of terrain you are riding on; the board comes with a 36V 4.4Ah battery that takes about 2.5 hours to recharge.

However, in case you ever run out of battery, you can also ride the skateboard like a normal board as will not jam even when turned off.

The wireless remote control that comes along is easy to operate just because of the simplicity of the design, it is easy to accelerate and decelerate and reverse the skateboard. Further, there are 2-speed modes for beginner and advanced riders. You can easily switch between these modes to your liking. There is also a hold function that makes it easy for you to get on and off the skateboard easily.

The skateboard can support a maximum weight of about 250lbs (113.6kgs) so you can ride carefree without having to worry about breaking or damaging your board in any way.

Overall, Blitzart Huracane 38-inch is one of the best electric skateboard currently available in the market that delivers value for money without compromising on quality and innovation. That is what we need more of.

Additionally, if you need something that will fit in your backpack and has a kicktail, then be sure to give Blitzart Mini Flash a look.

8. RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard

Build 5-ply Maple
Deck 29.7 (754mm)

Battery 22V lithium-ion

Pros

  • The first thing to mention here is the simplicity of using this skateboard. From its design to the controls, make it one of a kind and provides a smooth and simple experience without any fuss.
  • This skateboard may not be able to compete with some of the electric skateboards, but it offers the riders the experience to travel light, start riding anywhere and experience grip on almost any type of terrains you encounter.
  • The skateboard offers value for money. It is a cheap electric skateboard that offers decent quality along with a relatively lower price.

Cons

  • What this board makes in simplicity, it somewhat skims in performance. For instance, this board does not go in reverse. There are also other features such as safety features that we wished were present and came along with the board.
  • There have been some complaints regarding manufacturing defects that have proved to be a hassle for riders to figure out with the brand.

One of the cheapest electric skateboards available, RazorX Cruiser electric skateboard is one of a kind. It offers decent construction that ensures longevity together with the stability that comes when you ride it.

The deck is made from 5-ply maple wood. Unfortunately, this adds too much to the stability and ranks low on flexibility due to lack of bamboo. It would be preferable if this was made from a mixture of both, similar to Blitzart Huracane 38-inch Electric Skateboard so the riders can experience both. Still, it is one of the few electric cruisers around. This allows the board to make the cut and get on this list.

The deck has a length of almost 30 inches (29.7 inches to be exact) and on the top side, you will find it wrapped in grip tape to offer further stability. Moreover, the room on the skateboard although lacking when compared with other skateboards on this list, makes up for it by having a decent kicktail and giving your feet domination of its maneuverability.

The top speed of the board is 10mph, powered by a 125W motor and a 22V lithium-ion battery, it takes about 40 minutes for the battery to fully drain or 6.5 miles (10kms).
